11th & Pine (Staged Reading)

11TH & PINE (working title) is a new play that draws on interviews with activists, public servants, and other Seattlites to reconstruct the 2020 protests on Capitol Hill. Weaving personal testimony and theatrical conventions, the play tells the story of the organized protests from the perspectives of those who bore witness to their unfolding. 11TH & PINE amplifies the voices of protestors of color, and encourages us to scrutinize public, media, and city response to the protests, as well as to reflect on the promise and pitfalls of political activism.
