Kick off Seattle’s citywide Shakespeare celebration with a one-of-a-kind theatrical hybrid! ACT Artistic Director John Langs oversees a unique adaptation of The Bard's "Much Ado About Nothing". This comedy of overheard confessions, tender reconciliations, and plenty of witty banter takes on an expanded dramatic dimension via classical Romantic opera presentation. An exuberant score by Berlioz is paired with English text, including spoken passages lifted directly from Shakespeare's source material.

Performers from ACT's Core Company join world-class opera singers, a full chorus, and a 55-piece orchestra conducted by Seattle Symphony Orchestra Music Director Ludovic Morlot.

The result: a crossover cultural event sure to have the whole town talking.
