NAAM’s Freedom Weekend celebrates the 60th anniversary of the historic civil rights March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. This year, we are partnering with the MLK Commemoration Committee to honor the historic 1963 March on Washington with three days of free events. The theme is Dream Unfinished: Not a Commemoration, but a Continuation.
On the first day, join us at Northwest African American Museum for a youth and young adult (12-25) opportunity and resource fair. Hear uplifting words from our future leaders, learn more about career opportunities including various vocational paid training applications, trade unions, paid apprenticeship programs and so much more. We will also host a talent show with brunch/lunch included. This is a FREE event for the entire community to enjoy.
