NAAM’s Freedom Weekend celebrates the 60th anniversary of the historic civil rights March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. This year, we are partnering with the MLK Commemoration Committee to honor the historic 1963 March on Washington with three days of free events. The theme is Dream Unfinished: Not a Commemoration, but a Continuation.
On the second day, join the Northwest African American Museum for an all-day film festival as we watch movies about the March on Washington and history of those who fought for freedom. See below for an itinerary of the movies that will be playing and when. You can also join us for a march & rally to commemorate the historic March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. The March will start at NAAM at 3PM and end at MLK Jr. Memorial Park.
