Defined by Wikipedia as an "American indie rock, garage rock, and R&B band" from Seattle, Pickwick's self-defined 'soulful garage' tunes have been a staple in the town's lauded music scene. Their 2012 EP, Myths, was one of the best-selling local albums of that year, and around the same time, the band began selling out local shows at the venues like the Neptune and the Showbox at the Market. (Ashraf Hasham, TeenTix's Director of Partnerships & Programs, saw them perform on New Year's Eve 2013, reporting that the experience was "kick-ass.")

Their 2013 debut full-length, Can't Talk Medicine, has been likened the band to The Black Keys, Alabama Shakes, and Sam Cooke, among others. Upgrading from the basement and setting up shop in their living room, the band’s own multi-instrumentalist Kory Kruckenberg served as engineer. The 13 finished tracks include three re-recorded and fully realized Myths cuts and a collaboration with Sharon Van Etten on lead single “Lady Luck.”

Pickwick is set for another EP release in 2016 and an LP in 2017. Join us at Kirkland Performance Center to see this sweet local band tear it up!
