Join The 5th Avenue Theatre for an evening of pizza, musical mastery, and an entirely student-produced work!

On July 12th, TeenTix members and a guest are invited to join the Rising Star Project for their version of West Side Story. This production is created by an all-student cast and crew, as well as students working in producing, development, marketing, and casting departments, with guidance and mentorship from The 5th Ave's staff.

Prior to the show, teens are invited to participate in a movement workshop taught by a cast member of 5th Ave's professional West Side Story production! Workshop participants will be provided a dinner break with FREE PIZZA. Space is limited, so make sure to indicate that you'd like to participate in the workshop on this form.

Following the workshop, there is an optional pre-show chat led by current RSP students so you can learn more about their process. Finally, you'll settle in for RSP's West Side Story!

PLEASE NOTE: TeenTix members can bring someone else of any age to the show for an additional $5, reservations not required. Buy tickets day-of-show tickets for the performance itself at the box office using your TeenTix Pass!

ABOUT THE SHOW

West Side Story, the awe-inspiring musical, beloved by many, reimagines Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet in the context of gang violence and racial prejudice. Although created 50 years ago, West Side Story is still as impressive, vibrant, and influential as ever; this Rising Star Project production of West Side Story makes the show new again. With a quintessential score and choreography, West Side Story brings a relevancy to musical theater, coupling artistry with a reexamination of bias and stereotyping. The production, remounted entirely by students, makes the storytelling even more special. Audiences will watch a cast of dedicated high school students perform this iconic and sweeping tale with all the grace, passion, and quality of its mainstage counterpart.
