An anonymous advertisement in the local newspaper announces the exact time and place of a murder soon to happen. The inhabitants of the small village think it must be a joke, until they find out it most certainly is not. In a town this small, everyone is a suspect, and the intrepid Miss Marple is determined to help the police uncover the truth before the killer strikes again, (and whether the police want her help or not is of no concern to her!).
