The New Guard
WHAT IS THE NEW GUARD?
The New Guard trains young people to become the next generation of arts leaders. A cohort of youth ages 13-19 works deeply with TeenTix and Arts Partners to give meaningful feedback from the teen perspective. New Guardians connect with fellow teen arts-goers to explore the arts and culture in our community and learn from the people who make it happen. There is no cost to participate, and all New Guardians receive monthly stipends for their work.
New Guard Program Structure
In 2025-26, the New Guard will..
- Meet every other Tuesday
- See art together every month
- Meet with staff from multiple arts partners to learn about the arts industry and career pathways
- Collaborate with arts partners to offer feedback and brainstorm tangible actions for increasing/deepening teen engagement at their organizations
- Lead creative skill-shares for one another, learning from the diverse expertise of cohort members
- Act as a teen council and focus group for TeenTix on organizational decisions and events
