TeenTix Welcomes Laurie Lynch as new Executive Director

The TeenTix Board of Directors announced today that Laurie Lynch will serve as the Executive Director of the youth arts access and advocacy organization beginning February 17. 

TeenTix is a 20-year-old institution working to ensure teens are prioritized in the arts and cultural sector. To date, TeenTix has engaged more than 170,000 teens in more than 200,000 arts and cultural experiences at 150+ Arts and Community Partners.

“Laurie brings a wealth of experience that includes the arts, education, youth advocacy, and a commitment to centering youth voices,” said Andre Gougisha, Board President. “TeenTix is a longstanding cultural anchor within Seattle – born from a collective vision that youth participation and leadership in the arts are central to the future of our communities and we are excited to partner with Laurie to lead our efforts.”

Lynch said, "I am thrilled to be joining TeenTix and be a part of the amazing young folk's journey towards creating an arts and cultural community in the Puget Sound area and beyond that represents their voices."

Laurie Lynch (they/them/she/her) is a queer artist, educator, and activist dedicated to youth empowerment. From developing original work to performing as Drag King Dan D Lite to facilitating youth and adult workshops, Lynch’s work is rooted in storytelling and human connection. With a background in theatre-making and arts activism, Lynch has spent their career creating spaces where young people can amplify their voices and drive meaningful change. Their commitment to theatre for social change has been a cornerstone of their work, using the arts as a platform for activism, dialogue, and community building. Passionate about cultivating inclusive, youth-centered spaces, Lynch remains committed to ensuring that all young people—especially those historically excluded—have access to creative opportunities that empower them to shape their communities and the world around them.

Lynch has served on the City of Tacoma Human Rights Commission, chairing the Education and Outreach Committee. They hold a Master of Fine Arts in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University and earned their Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts and Dance at California State University Los Angeles.
