The New Guard sees "Stage of Fools"

On Saturday, October 18th members of the TeenTix New Guard went on their first Arts Outing of the year: a visit to Seattle Public Theater for their production of Stage of Fools!

About the show: A scrappy feminist theater company is about to go under when they receive an offer they can't refuse: has-been 80s action movie star Jake Stone will endow them with more money than they've ever dreamed of, if they'll produce King Lear, with him in the titular role. Never mind that he's an entitled, egotistical blowhard. These women can survive anything for the sake of the theater they love...right? (courtesy of Seattle Public Theater)

"Stage of Fools was hilarious and chaotic, mixing theatre with modern humor. I would tell anyone who’s thinking about going that it’s a fast-paced, exciting show and great for a good laugh with friends and family. The Green Lake Bathhouse had a cozy ambiance and made the play feel close and engaging with the show going on just a few feet away. Teens should see it because it’s creative, funny, and shows how theatre can feel relevant today." - Carter

"Teens should go to see this show because no matter what’s happening in our lives stressful or not we all need a good laugh every once in a while and you will not leave this show without laughing at least once. There are also not many venues in Seattle with such an intimate atmosphere where the actors are just a few feet away from you, and there’s so much magic in being able to see theatre so close. Teens should 100% take advantage of how often shows get put on at this venue especially since they provide ample opportunities to see acting in a manner that isn’t offered frequently in theatres in Seattle." - Luna

Stage of Fools runs through Sunday, November 2nd. More information is available on Seattle Public Theater's website.
