Zoe B + StrawShop

I love theatre, but I'm often negligent about visiting small theatre venues that I'm not familiar with. This is a huge mistake. Venues like Strawshop are where theatre is really happening. It's nice to go somewhere huge and professional with pretty sets like the Rep or the Intiman, it makes us feel as though we are getting our money's worth. But let's be real, sometimes the actual theatre part gets lost under the gloss. Not so at StrawShop: the play was funny, heart-breaking. Breaking the Code has already finished its run, but I still highly recommend checking out the smaller theatre venues around Seattle, they can be intimate and explosive.

If you're looking to try out a small theatre, may we suggest Washington Ensemble Theatre, Balagan Theatre, SiS Productions, Edmonds' Driftwood Players, and Young Americans' Theatre Company?
